Casual Winter Equipment Operator - Term (2 Positions)

DESCRIPTION:

The Township of Laurentian Valley is hiring two (2) Casual Winter Equipment Operators

2 Positions Available – November 2024 to April 2025

 

 

The Township of Laurentian Valley requires two Casual Winter Equipment Operators whos’ main responsibility will be for snow clearing of Township Roads. The Casual Operator will also assist with other tasks including equipment maintenance, road patching and other road-related duties. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Casual Operator provides support to the Township’s Public Works & Property Department with safety as a priority. For the successful candidates, there is potential for further term employment opportunities with the municipality.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Valid DZ driver’s license (minimum) in good standing.
  • Must have completed O.S.S.D. (Grade 12).
  • Must have experience in operation of tandem trucks, backhoe, loader and other miscellaneous equipment.
  • Experience in the operation of snow clearing equipment is an asset.
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Must be available for on call and ability to work flexible hours.

 

Compensation: (2024 rate): $27.53, no benefits
