SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENT

Environment Canada issued a Weather Advisory on March 28, 2025. The forecast for our region currently calls for 10cm to 20cm of snow starting this evening and continuing into Saturday morning. Snowfall will be heavy at times with reduced visibility. Prolonged period of freezing rain is possible on Sunday with significant ice accretion of 5mm to 10mm. Slippery Surfaces broken tree branches and power outages may be a result from ice build-up.

2025 Spring Load Restrictions

Pursuant to Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act and applicable Municipal By-Laws, reduced load limits on roads throughout the Township of Laurentian Valley will be in effect commencing March 17, 2025, and extending until May 30, 2025.
Vehicle loads will be restricted to 5 tonnes per axle on those roads where signs have been erected.

2025 - 2026 Waste Collection Schedules

The 2025 Collection Schedules are being mailed out the week of March 17 to residents in Petawawa, Pembroke and Laurentian Valley. The annual calendar, distributed by the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre on behalf of the Municipalities, outlines collection days for waste, recycling and green carts as well as special collections such as leaf and yard waste and spring and fall large item collection.
The collection schedules begin March 31. This year’s calendar only runs until December 31, 2025...
